La Boca, Buenos Aires

Today it just rained all day so we headed off to La Boca. La Boca is one of the oldest barrios in Buenos Aires, but is also one of the poorest. It used to be the port of Buenos Aires and is where the first Italian migrants settled. It's also where the Tango dance was created.
The number 29 bus took us directly from our hostel into La Boca, taking in the sights of the city en route - got to be the cheapest city tour bus! Unfortunately, the rain and pangs of hunger allowed us to be suckered into a tourist trap restaurant on La Caminito. The food was truly crap and expensive, but made better by the live tango dancers in the restaurant.
Before walking back to downtown we had a quick peek at the Boca Juniors Football Stadium, the spiritual home of Diego Maradonna. It was huge! Over 100,000 for a Buenos Aires derby match.
